Ultrasonic Performance
R-Scan is the best manual ultrasonic B-scan system the industry has to offer. With its advanced filtering, the system can inspect materials ranging 4.7–100.0 mm (0.2–4.0 in) faster and more accurately than any other. The software allows for unique UT gate processing, such as floating and tracking gates, ensuring correct wall thickness measurements under most circumstances.
Scanner
Designed to be carried to the most remote locations, the battery-powered, ultrasonic R-Scan is designed to be easy to use in petrochemical environments.
Probe Design
The unique dry-coupled ultrasonic wheel probe eliminates the need for couplant or for a constant water supply. It is designed as a twin crystal ultrasonic probe with a unique rolling probe face.
High Probability of Detection
Compared to traditional spot thickness measurements, R-Scan increases the likelihood of detecting corrosion by continuously measuring the thickness as the scanning head moves over the surface under test. The captured thickness data is displayed as an A-scan trace, a digital thickness measurement, and a simple-to-understand thickness profile.
Position Encoder
The scanning head is fitted with an optical encoder that offers accurate positional information about the recorded scan data. The magnetic wheels assist while scanning vertically or inverted, minimizing the probability of encoder slippage.
Flexibility
You can use R-Scan on a wide variety of components 4.7–100.0 mm (0.2–4.0 in) thick from 50 mm (2 in) in diameter up to a flat surfaces.
