The NG-283 is a handheld broadband white gaussian noise generator for testing coaxial networks, components and aligning coaxial cable at all frequencies between 1 and 2200 MHz.

Using a signal level meter or spectrum analyzer a frequency response of a coaxial section can be measured for TV?Terrestrial and Satellite bands.
